Children´s Cultural Centre Rulla

Rulla is a colourful and inspiring children’s cultural centre in the heart of Tampere. The whole family can engage in activities at Rulla: make art, showcase their works and participate in events and art workshops. In Rulla’s changing exhibitions, you get to know different kind of art and themes.

Children´s Cultural Centre Rulla is located in the Culture House Laikku, in the basement floor. Main entrance is accessible and it is located at the south end of the building, next the Tampere Theatre.

EXHIBITIONS 16 MAY 2026:

LOVE IT! – CULTURAL EDUCATION PROGRAMME TAIDEKAARI´S 20TH ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION
The 20th anniversary exhibition of Tampere’s cultural education program Art Arc (Taidekaari) highlights children’s perspectives on art. The theme of the exhibition is celebration, and it was curated by students from classes 4A and 4B at Peltolammi School. The children selected the works from nominations submitted by members of the Tampere Artists’ Association. The curation process took place in a workshop-style format, and the classes also had the opportunity to create art themselves. The children’s artworks will be displayed as part of the Love It! exhibition alongside works by ten professional artists.

RULLA’S SECRET PARTY OFFICE
In Rulla’s Secret Party Office, you can complete secret party tasks, take a nap inside a cake, make important phone calls or organize tea parties. The functional and playful party office exhibition was carried out as part of Rulla’s 20th anniversary. Esikot group from Kalevanharju Kindergarten and the first grade of Wivi Lönn’s school participated in the design of the party office. The data collection and interviews with children were made by students from Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
