The exhibition presents Tampere-based authors and illustrators of children’s and young adult literature, as well as books that are set in Tampere.

The exhibition, produced by the Finnish section of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY Finland), presents Tampere-based authors and illustrators of children’s and young adult literature, as well as books that are set in Tampere in one way or another.

Tampere has long been, and continues to be, Finland’s most significant centre for children’s and young adult literature. Many major writers and illustrators were born, or have lived, and worked in Tampere region. In addition to books set in Tampere, these authors and illustrators have created immortal characters such as Mestaritonttu, Haitula, Miina and Manu, Pupu Tupuna, Tiina, and Risto Räppääjä.

The exhibition is located in the Komuutti gallery room in the Finnish Labour Museum Werstas.
